On 21st June 2022, Alex Footsoy, one of our Mexborough Youth Councillors, joined Cllrs Chapman & Pickering at Highwoods Base for a Youth Surgery along with his colleagues Ava Calladine, Primary Ambassador & Katie Thorpe (supported by DC Youth Officers). It was an extremely positive session attended by a number of local young people with a number of community issues raised and some great ideas for improvement locally.It was also a real pleasure for Cllr Gibbons to meet Alex, at the Mexborough Neighbourhood Network Relaunch Event on Sat 3rd Sep!
We then invited Alex to attend our monthly Ward Meeting at Mexborough Library last Mon 5th Sep to meet some of our colleagues in Doncaster Council Communities South Area Team Doncaster St Leger Homes Doncaster teams and hear about some of the work going on and discussions we have.
We look forward to working more closely with Alex and his fellow Youth Councillors to discuss community issues across Mexborough and to improve provision/activities for our local young people.
