Fantastic morning yesterday planting 100 trees with the Mexborough community on the Rocket Field in memory of the men and women of the Great War 1914-18.
Was a huge pleasure for Mexborough First councillors and supporters to assist this excellent cause.
Thanks to The Woodland Trust for donating the trees and to Daniel Goddard for applying for them for our town.
Also, thanks for support by the Mexborough Ferryboat Association volunteers, Alan Leonard of Webhelp and his volunteers and all the rest of Mexborough who volunteered their time.
Special thanks to the British Legion for the crosses and their help and DMBC Tree Team (Dave Wynn) for their support and advice.
We also picked up seven bags of litter afterwards!
