The Mexborough First team were out and about Mexborough this week looking at community issues and planning future clean-ups.
We came across a really serious issue off Station Road as you approach the canal footpath as you can see from the photos. Sadly metal thieves had stolen the steel manhole cover and left a very dangerous 20 foot drop which someone could have fallen into.
As a result of an urgent report to DMBC and very swift action by Paul Eyre and United Carpets, we are pleased to report that the manhole has been safely secured and the access steps cleared. Thank you to all involved.
