An amazing turn-out at this morning’s Remembrance Sunday service at Mexborough Cenotaph.
It was an honour for the Meborough First Councillors to be part of the service. Today was a day to remember those we have lost and have given their tomorrow for our today. We count our blessings every day.
Thank you to Father Wise for another good service, the fantastic efforts of those involved in the parade, the Mexborough, Swinton & Kilnhurst branch of the Royal British Legion for organising everything and a lovely buffet and entertainment at the LNER Club afterwards.
PS – thank you to Paul, caretaker at Doncaster Road School for use of string and scissors in order to secure the wreaths to the cenotaph afterwards. We did well to avoid a heavy downpour during the service!
