Around 500 people came out this morning to commemorate and remember those young men and women who ‘Gave their tomorrow for our today’.

Special thanks to Deputy Lieutenant of the County of South Yorkshire Mrs Hilary Massarella MBE & her husband Mark for joining us today. Also, to Pastor Denise Lancaster for leading today’s service.

Huge thanks to Roy Lund, Enis Dalton Pam Chambers and all at our local branch of Royal British Legion for their tireless work organising another extremely successful event. Also great to see local legends James Batty , Tommy Joyce MBE, Frank Knapton MBE to name but a few paying their respects.

To Rachael Piekuss sounding the ‘Last Post’ on the 1st WW Bugle which sounded beautiful as always.

Also, thanks to our local scouts, guides, brownies, rainbows, Cadets (sorry if missed any!) who all did a fabulous job parading and joining in the commemoration. And to South Yorkshire Police for their support in the event. And to Tommy, Paul and Arthur at New Pastures Primary School for providing seating for the event.
