A PUBLIC MEETING WITH OUR OWN COUNCILLORS Mexborough first are organising a public meeting – this is what Mexborough First have to say:
“Based on today’s debacle meeting with extremely concerned residents and then with the HS2 team and only finding out that the team do not have sufficient local knowledge of Mexborough and surrounding area, we are calling an official public meeting on Mon 18th July (prior to the HS2 publicised meeting on Tue 19th July 12pm-7pm).
We have just met with Conrad James, HS2 Project Manager and his colleagues and suggested they investigate an alternative route which would not result in the Shimmer estate being demolished to make way for HS2 and the infamous ‘Northern Powerhouse’ which appears to have very little benefit to Mexborough and its residents.

Mexborough First have invited the HS2 team to the public meeting on 18th as not confident the one on 19th is suffice as most people can’t make 12-7pm!
All are welcome at the meeting but residents on Shimmer estate a major priority plus other affected residents from the local area can come too.
The meeting takes place on the 18th of July at Mexborough Academy on Maple Road at 6pm
