Well…what can we say….some Mexborough town centre plants pulled out 13th Aug…promises by Doncaster Council to replace…never materialised…so your local Cllrs have done the job at our cost!

DMBC has let Mexborough down once again and we have had to step in to bring some colour back into our town centre. The latest response was that we would have to wait another month for the winter bedding to arrive in Doncaster from York so we decided we would replace the colour NOW…at a small cost…and then we can look forward to more colour over the winter period.

CCTV footage of the criminal damage (which happened on 13th Aug 2019) has been processed by @South Yorkshire Police and the young people in question will be prosecuted. This unacceptable behaviour will not be tolerated.

Our next community project is to look at setting up a ‘Community Garden’ on a local allotment site…and empower local people to work on this and attract new volunteers…perhaps working with young people/older people, people with special needs/learning difficulties etc…and help to develop a community project which grows colourful plants such as these for the betterment of our town?

Sound like a good idea? Please let us know!
