We have received a number of complaints from local residents with regards the current state of Mexborough Cemetery.

The complaints are with regards the length/state of the grass around graves and access footpaths and full bins.

As tomorrow is Father’s Day and no doubt one of the busiest Sundays in the year, Cllr Gibbons has just been for a walk around the cemetery to see for himself and taken several photos.

He has emailed the Assistant Director of DMBC responsible for cemeteries and asked that the bins are emptied asap and the grass is strimmed on Monday. We have also requested a copy of the cleansing/maintenance schedule and will monitor very closely.

Best wishes, Cllr Sean Gibbons
