Dropped Kerbs created by DMBC in Mexborough, improving community safety.
Following numerous complaints from concerned residents via email, stopping us in the street, regular Councillor Surgeries etc, Mexborough First Cllrs are pleased to see that DMBC have made alterations on Swinton Road/Main Street installing a number of dropped kerbs in the area.
This will further improve accessibility for the increasing number of mobility scooter and wheelchair users in our town.
In addition, the parking area outside Ideal Travel will be adapted to remind drivers not to park across a dropped kerb crossing which is an obstruction offence and extremely inconsiderate.
We will continue to monitor and liaise with DMBC Highways and Community Safety teams to improve accessibility and safety in Mexborough.
