After lots of complaints from concerned Mexborough residents last November about motorists parking illegally outside the Premier Store on Adwick Road we had a site visit with DMBC Highways and local Neighbourhood Watch Co-ordinator Brian Whitmore, to see what could be done to improve Road safety.
We witnessed lots of vehicles just pulling onto the pavement with no regard to pedestrians or other motorists and more often than not parking dangerously.
It was decided that bollards would help to stop the hazardous parking and improve the safety of pedestrians.
They were installed this week and hopefully will make a big difference.
We will of course be monitoring this situation, we also know there are other issues in the area regarding parking in particular that we are addressing too.
It’s a very busy area, especially during the school run, please keep this in mind whilst driving around.
