Following numerous reports and complaints from local residents in Mexborough to Mex First councillors, DMBC and the issue of pot holes, poor surface etc being continually raised at monthly PACT meetings, we are very pleased to announce that this car park will finally get some attention.
DMBC Street Scene officers will be carrying out some remedial works starting the middle of next week (10th Feb onwards) in order to fill the pot holes and make the surface safe in this busy car park used by many people daily.
Huge thanks to local resident and Mexborough stalwart Frank Knapton MBE for his continued persistence and determination to get this issue sorted. Frank was fundamental this week in highlighting the history surrounding this car park (back to Mexborough Urban Disctrict Council days in 1970s and beyond) and confirming the responsibility and ownership lies with DMBC.
The long term goal is for the car park to be completely resurfaced and, rest assured, your Mex First councillors will be pushing DMBC to achieve this in the future.
