It was a huge pleasure for Cllr Gibbons to join the fab tenants & residents at Dog Daisy TARA last Thu afternoon for an Estate Walk & Community Litter-Pick before their monthly meeting kicked off at 6pm.
We were joined by a number of officers from Doncaster South NPT, Doncaster Council Street Scene team & also St Leger Homes Doncaster
We picked a number of community issues which have been collated into an Action Schedule and will be worked through over the coming weeks & months.
Three bags of rubbish/litter were collected and disposed of. Huge thanks to Mexborough Neighbourhood Network for providing the litter-pickers, bags, gloves etc.
We then spent a couple of hours discussing further community issues at their monthly meeting held at The Dog Daisy pub & it was great to see a couple of new faces.
Dog Daisy TARA meet on the first Thu of each month at 6-7.30/8pm & all local tenants & residents are most welcome.
At the meeting, Cllr Gibbons agreed to support the community group with £300 from the Mexborough First Ward Member Budgets (in conjunction with Cllr Pickering) towards a trip to Bakewell during the summer (when it finally arrives!).
This a thank you for all of their efforts supporting the local community since they first launched back in 2010 & continue to be the most active TARA in Mexborough.
