Damage and thefts being committed at Mexborough Cemetery

This issue was agreed as a ‘PACT Priority’ at the Mexborough PACT Meeting on Thu 21st May.

A public meeting of community partners (including DMBC, SYP, Mex Councillors, community organisations and residents) was held at Highwoods Base on Wed 20th May 2015.

A follow-up meeting will be held in the Chapel in Mexborough Cemetery on Wed 24th June 2015 at 7.15pm and everyone is welcome.

It was suggested last Wed that the forming a ‘Friends of Mexborough Cemetery Group’ would be a good idea in order to increase the presence in Mexborough Cemetery and hopefully discourage any future anti-social behaviour or vandalism.

Please can Mexborough residents visit Mexborough Cemetery where possible to show increased use and respect by everyone. Anyone witnessing any anti-social behaviour or vandalism of graves should report to South Yorkshire Police on ‘101’ or to Doncaster MBC on 01302 736000 (office hours) or 01302 341628 (out of hours).
