Huge thanks to all the volunteers, young and old, who attended the Community Tree Planting and Litter-Picking session this morning on Manvers Park off Wath Road.
We planted 105 trees kindly donated by Woodland Trust and over 20 volunteers had a great time!
We also picked up over 10 bags of litter in the area, a smashed TV, an old scooter etc.
Thank you to everyone who got involved especially the Royal British Legion Swinton, Mexborough and Kilnhurst branch who provided some remembrance crosses. Also, to Web Help staff and Mexborough Action Team (MAT) volunteers.
Special thanks to the children and young people who joined us with their families. They were all issued with Woodland Trust certificates and also chocolate tree each thanks to Suzanne Nettleton, Community Champion at Tesco Wath-upon-Dearne.
Refreshments were provided by Food AWARE CIC.
