Mex Cllrs been out clearing snow and improving community safety in Mexborough.
Cllrs Pickering and Gibbons have been out today clearing some local ‘hot-spots’ where footpaths and pavements are very slippy due to recent bad weather conditions.
One example is end of Barbers Path/top of Willow Drive in Mexborough which is a very busy pedestrian route down to the town centre and up towards Montagu Academy on Park Road. This route is also used by many Mexborough Academy students.
With local schools expected to reopen tomorrow morning, we thought we would take the initiative to improve community safety in certain areas.
Huge thanks to local residents who have been clearing snow and putting grit down across the town. It is really appreciated….especially by older people.
We have asked MyDoncaster Highways to replenish local empty grit bins so that we are able to look after ourselves further across our local community. Please ensure any grit taken from yellow grit boxes are used in hot-spot areas i.e. slippy inclines local to where grit boxes are sited.
Please also bear with DMBC who will refill grit bins as soon as they are able. Thank you.
